Dual-Sided Indoor LED Display: How DualView Works in Two-Way Traffic Spaces
A dual-sided indoor LED display combines two active LED faces in one structure so content can reach people approaching from opposite directions.
Uniview LED’s DualView Series is designed for shopping malls, retail spaces, airports, corporate lobbies and other indoor environments where a single display position must serve two audience flows.
Each face can show synchronized or independent content, allowing one installation to support advertising, wayfinding, passenger information or branded communication from two directions.
What Is a Dual-Sided Indoor LED Display?
A dual-sided indoor LED display places two LED display faces into one shared indoor structure. Unlike two conventional LED walls installed back-to-back, a purpose-built dual-sided system can use a slimmer shared mechanical platform while allowing each face to operate as an independent digital canvas.
Uniview LED DualView uses a 47 mm cabinet platform and supports synchronized or independent playback on the two faces. The series covers pixel pitches from approximately 1.56 mm to 3.91 mm, with model-dependent brightness and refresh-rate options.
Why Use One Display with Two Active Faces?
Many indoor public spaces do not have a single dominant viewing direction.
In a shopping-mall atrium, passengers may approach from both ends of a corridor. In an airport, people may move toward opposite gates. In a corporate lobby, visitors may enter from one direction and leave through another.
A conventional single-sided screen serves only the audience facing its active surface. A dual-sided display allows the same installation position to carry digital content toward both traffic directions.
The value is therefore not simply “twice the advertising.” The more important design question is whether the site contains two meaningful audience flows that should receive content from the same physical location.
Same Content or Different Content on Each Side?
Synchronized Playback
Both faces can show the same campaign, branding or information when consistent messaging is required in both directions.
Independent Playback
Each face can show different content when the two audiences have different destinations or communication needs.
Scheduled Content
A CMS or playback system can change campaigns, information or wayfinding according to time and operational needs.
Dual-Sided Indoor LED Display Specifications
DualView currently includes six pixel-pitch configurations. Final cabinet mapping, weight, controller capacity and structural design should follow the approved project drawings and datasheet.

| DV1.9 | 1.953 mm | 600–800 nits by configuration | 3,840 / 7,680 Hz by configuration | Retail, corporate and commercial interiors |
| DV2.6 | 2.604 mm | 600–800 nits by configuration | 3,840 / 7,680 Hz by configuration | Malls and transportation environments |
| DV2.97 | 2.976 mm | 600–800 nits by configuration | Up to 7,680 Hz | Medium-distance indoor viewing |
| DV3.12 | 3.125 mm | 600–800 nits by configuration | Up to 7,680 Hz | Large commercial interior displays |
| DV3.91 | 3.906 mm | 800 nits | Up to 7,680 Hz | Longer indoor viewing distances |
One 47 mm Platform with Multiple Cabinet Formats
The current DualView platform uses a 47 mm cabinet depth and a 250 × 250 mm module platform.
Different cabinet orientations allow system designers to adjust the finished active dimensions while keeping the dual-sided architecture consistent.
Available cabinet formats include 500 × 1000 mm, 750 × 250 mm, 250 × 750 mm, 500 × 250 mm and 250 × 500 mm configurations.
The final cabinet map should be approved together with structural support, receiving-card routing and service access.
How Is a Dual-Sided LED Display Maintained?
A dual-sided display creates a different maintenance challenge from a conventional LED wall because neither face should require a large rear service corridor.
DualView uses front-service access from both faces. LED modules can be removed from the viewing side, while hard-connected HUB architecture simplifies internal power and data distribution.
Optional intelligent modules can retain calibration data, helping replacement modules recover brightness and color settings more efficiently.
The site must still provide safe technician access to both faces.
Where Dual-Sided Indoor LED Displays Make Sense
Shopping Malls
Atriums and corridors often have pedestrian traffic moving in two directions, making a suspended dual-sided display a natural fit.
Airports
One display position can deliver advertising, passenger information or wayfinding toward opposite flows.
Transportation Hubs
Rail stations and terminals can use two display faces for passengers approaching from different directions.
Corporate Lobbies
Reception information and branded content can be distributed toward entrances, waiting zones or internal circulation paths.
Retail Storefronts
Independent faces can address customers outside the store while presenting different content toward the interior.
Commercial Interiors
Suspended or floor-supported dual-sided formats can work where floor area is limited but two-way visibility matters.
Suspended or Floor-Supported?
DualView supports both suspended and floor-supported installation concepts.
Suspended systems are useful in atriums, airports and transport environments where floor space or sightlines must remain open.
Floor-supported designs may be appropriate for showrooms, lobbies and locations where overhead structural support is not available.
Product documentation allows suspended structures up to 10 m under specified hardware and support conditions, but this is not a universal installation rule.
Structural requirement: final dead load, suspension points, fasteners, seismic requirements, safety factors and local codes must be reviewed by the responsible project engineer. Product limits do not replace project-specific structural calculations.
How Do You Choose the Right Pixel Pitch?
Start with the closest regular viewing distance, not the largest possible audience distance.
Next, calculate the active dimensions and native resolution required for the content.
DV1.5 and DV1.9 provide higher pixel density for closer viewing, while DV2.6 through DV3.91 can be more practical as viewing distance increases.
Ambient light, content detail, controller capacity, cabinet mapping and project budget should be considered before the model is finalized.
Is a Dual-Sided Indoor LED Display Suitable for Cameras?
Some DualView configurations support refresh rates up to 7,680 Hz, which can be useful in camera-facing applications.
Refresh rate alone does not determine on-camera performance. Scan settings, PWM behavior, grayscale, brightness, camera frame rate, shutter speed and processor configuration must also be commissioned together.
A final camera test under the actual site conditions is recommended whenever broadcast or recorded video is part of the application.
What Should You Confirm Before Ordering a Dual-Sided LED Display?
Confirm active width and height for both display faces.
Measure the nearest regular viewing distance.
Define whether each face needs synchronized or independent content.
Confirm ambient-light conditions and operating brightness.
Decide between suspended and floor-supported installation.
Calculate controller capacity for both display faces.
Plan safe front-service access to both sides.
Verify maximum electrical load rather than average power only.
Approve cabinet mapping and support structure before production.
Prepare spare modules and calibration files for maintenance.
Design the Display Around Audience Flow
Dual-sided LED is most effective when the project begins with pedestrian flow and sightline analysis.
Identify where people enter, leave, wait and change direction. Then determine whether both sides need the same content or whether each audience needs its own information.
Only after that should the project team finalize screen size, pixel pitch, cabinet layout, suspension method and control topology.
This approach produces a display that fits the architecture instead of simply adding a screen to an available location.
A Purpose-Built Platform for Two-Way Indoor Viewing
DualView is designed specifically for indoor locations where audiences approach from two directions and where a conventional rear-service enclosure would add unnecessary depth.
Its dual active faces, front-service architecture and multiple pixel-pitch options make it suitable for commercial, transportation and corporate environments where digital communication must work with the building’s circulation pattern.

Planning a Dual-Sided Indoor LED Installation?
Prepare the dimensions of both display faces, nearest viewing distance, installation method, ambient-light conditions, content-control requirements and project country before requesting a configuration.
