Product Overview

Configured for the Finished Installation

AQ Series should be configured around the finished installation rather than selected as a standalone cabinet. Pixel pitch, active display dimensions, native resolution, cabinet mapping, service direction, supporting structure tolerances and power distribution should be coordinated before production. The common 250×500 mm module platform supports four cabinet formats, allowing the screen layout to follow the architectural opening while maintaining consistent module alignment. Corner, curved and mixed-size sections should be confirmed in approved shop drawings.

Viewing DistanceDefine the nearest and typical viewing positions before selecting pixel pitch.
Active Display SizeConfirm finished width, height, aspect ratio and native resolution before cabinet mapping.
Service DirectionChoose front, rear or combined service access before structure and cable routing are finalized.
Site EnvironmentReview sunlight, rainfall, temperature, corrosion exposure and local luminance limits.
Outdoor Façade Studies

Four conditions shape the finished screen.

Instead of treating brightness, corners, curves and weather protection as isolated features, AQ should be engineered as one façade system. Each study below addresses a condition that changes the finished installation.

Daylight Visibility

Brightness is a site setting, not a single number.

AQ3.9 is listed at 5,000–5,500 cd/m², AQ4.8 at 5,000 cd/m², and AQ6.9, AQ8.3 and AQ10.4 at 5,500 cd/m². Screen orientation, peak sunlight, operating hours and local nighttime luminance limits should define the final brightness schedule.

Field checkRecord façade direction, peak daylight and nighttime operating limits before production.
Geometry Study

One product family, three façade directions.

Flat runs, building corners and curved transitions must be resolved in the cabinet map before the supporting steel and cable routes are frozen.

02 / RIGHT ANGLE

90° corner mapping

Right-angle configurations allow two display planes to meet around a building corner. Confirm cabinet orientation, service direction, seam control, cable routing and structural tolerances in approved elevation and section drawings.

AQ Series round-corner outdoor LED display forming a continuous curved façade
03 / CURVE

Curved transitions up to ±5°

Compatible curved modules support a stated maximum ±5° concave or convex transition. The finished radius depends on module type, cabinet sequence and supporting geometry, so a dimensioned cabinet map is required.

Outdoor Protection

IP65 is the starting point of the enclosure strategy.

Front-and-rear IP65 supports outdoor fixed installations exposed to rain and dust, but the completed façade still requires sealed cable entries, drainage, ventilation, corrosion protection and inspection access.

Environmental reviewCoastal, high-temperature and directly exposed rear-service locations require a site-specific review.

Applications

Outdoor Media and Public-Space Installations

DOOH Advertising

Roadside and large-format media networks need readable content at long viewing distances, controlled daytime brightness and an electrical design based on maximum connected load.

Building Façades

Slim cabinets and front-service access support wall-mounted media façades where rear clearance is restricted and architectural interfaces must remain coordinated.

Outdoor Retail & Mall Entrances

Exterior retail façades, mall entrances and outdoor plazas require brand content that remains readable in daylight and fits the finished architectural opening.

Transportation Hubs

Airports, railway stations and transit facilities require wide viewing coverage, high refresh performance and planned maintenance access within public operating environments.

Cabinet Dimensions

Four Cabinet Formats in One Mapping System

Four cabinet formats share a 250×500 mm module platform, allowing the active display dimensions to follow the finished architectural opening.

AQ Series cabinet size diagram showing 1000 mm and 750 mm cabinet formats for outdoor LED display layouts
1000×1000 mm 25 kg per cabinet
1000×500 mm 14.5 kg per cabinet
750×1000 mm 19.5 kg per cabinet
750×500 mm 11.5 kg per cabinet

Horizontal and vertical correspondence: the listed weights map directly to the four W×H cabinet formats above. Cabinet depth varies by model from 83.6 to 86.7 mm.

Mixed-size layouts: confirm module alignment, final native resolution, fixing points, circuit zones and spare-cabinet quantities in the approved cabinet map.

Special structures: right-angle, round-corner and curved sections require matching structural details. Compatible curved modules are stated up to a maximum ±5°.

Engineering & Project Support

Four Details to Confirm Before Production

Confirm these four items with the display manufacturer, structural engineer, electrical contractor and control-system team before production.

Cabinet Mapping & Structure

Confirm active display dimensions, native resolution, cabinet orientation and mixed-size transitions in the approved cabinet map. Structural drawings should define fixing points, dead load, engineer-calculated wind load, leveling tolerances, drainage and maintenance access.

Service Access

Select front, rear or combined service access before the supporting structure and cable routes are finalized. Retain safe removal paths for modules, power supplies, receiving cards and fasteners.

Power & Signal Topology

Define maximum connected load, circuit zoning, grounding, surge protection, controller location, signal routing, spare ports and any required power or signal redundancy.

Commissioning & Records

Retain receiving-card configuration, controller backups, calibration data, approved brightness schedules, test records and operator handover documents for future service and component replacement.

Buyer FAQ

Outdoor LED Display Questions Buyers Ask First

Six common commercial and engineering questions covering brightness, pixel pitch, project cost, service access, IP65 protection and façade geometry.

01 Is 5,500 cd/m² bright enough for an outdoor LED billboard in direct sunlight?

AQ Series provides 5,000–5,500 cd/m² depending on model and is designed for outdoor fixed displays such as DOOH media, façades and transportation projects. Final suitability still depends on façade direction, peak sunlight, operating hours and local nighttime luminance limits. Define separate daytime and nighttime brightness schedules before production.

02 How do I choose the right pixel pitch for an outdoor LED billboard?

Choose pixel pitch from the nearest regular viewing distance, active display size, content detail and target resolution. AQ is available in 3.906, 4.807, 6.944, 8.333 and 10.417 mm. Finer pitches are more suitable for closer viewing and detailed content, while larger pitches are generally used for longer-distance outdoor media.

03 How much does an outdoor LED billboard or façade display cost?

There is no reliable single price because total project cost changes with pixel pitch, screen area, cabinet mapping, supporting steel, control system, power distribution, installation, freight and service requirements. For an accurate AQ quotation, provide the active dimensions, viewing distance, project country, installation height, service direction and site drawings.

04 Can AQ Series be front-maintained when there is little or no rear service space?

Yes. AQ Series supports front service as well as rear service, so it can be considered for wall-mounted outdoor screens with restricted rear clearance. The complete wall depth must still allow for structure, cable bend radius, drainage, ventilation and safe removal of modules, power supplies, receiving cards and fasteners.

05 Is IP65 protection enough for rain, dust and year-round outdoor use?

AQ Series is specified with IP65 protection on both the front and rear for outdoor fixed installation. IP65 does not replace sealed cable entries, drainage, ventilation, corrosion planning or routine inspection. Coastal sites, high temperatures and directly exposed rear-service locations require additional environmental review.

06 Can AQ Series create right-angle and curved outdoor LED façades?

Yes. AQ supports flat, right-angle, round-corner and curved configurations, with compatible curved modules stated up to a maximum ±5°. The finished curve radius depends on module type, cabinet sequence and structural geometry, so plan, elevation and section drawings should identify every corner or curved transition before fabrication.
